"The Bear Corner"

Little Bears - (Babies) 6 weeks to 23 months

We provide a loving, safe and homelike environment for the children in our care. The class schedule for those in Bear Corner is tentative. Children are loved and cared for according to their own individual needs and to their parent's wishes. Teachers spend their time playing with the children, rocking them, holding them, and moving them from one activity to another, just as would happen in their own home. There are plenty of toys and equipment to keep everybody busy and learning.

Diapers are changed every 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or more often as needed. Teachers keep a daily chart keeping track of when the children were changed.

Each child has his or her own crib or cot. Cubbies and shelf space for personal items are also provided.

"Big Bears - Toddlers Preschool"

(Toddlers) 24 months to 42 months

"The Dinosaurs Room ~ Preschool"

Dinosaurs - 3 years to 4 years

"The Jungle Room ~ Preschool and After School Care"

Monkeys - 4 years to 5 years (not yet in kindergarten)

Tigers - Kindergarten Class

Zebras- 6 years to 12 years

The primary goals for the Dinosaur and Jungle rooms are to teach social skills, cooperation, sharing, learning good bathroom habits, table manners, and being part of the clean-up team. We encourage the children to use their words in time of conflict. We encourage the love of school, books, music, reading readiness, etc. At Cub Corner Learning Center, Inc. we desire to build within each child a strong foundation, self-confidence and assurance for life.

6:00-8:00 - Arrival/Quiet table time

8:00-9:00 - Breakfast

9:00-9:15 - Free Choice/Clean-up/Wash Hands

9:15-9:30 - Circle Time (Literacy)

9:30-9:45 - Enrichment (RRR, Stations, Science, etc.)

9:45-10:00 - Free Choice/Dramatic Play/Construction

10:00-10:30 - Group Activity (Art/Movement/Science/Cooking)

10:30-11:30 - Outside Play Time

11:30-12:00 - Lunch and Clean-up

12:00-12:30 - Reading (Literacy)

12:30-1:00 - Writing (Literacy)/Preschool Dismissal
